2012 is a year where many hopeful athletes undergo hours of training and physical exertion in order to better themselves to compete in the Olympics. In that spirit, one of the Cystinosis Foundation UK trustees is readying himself for the Derbyshire Building Society 10km run on 1st April. Ranjit Seehra and at least ten fellow supporters will be running/jogging/walking in the race in order to raise funds for the charity.
Ranjit is dusting off his running shoes after 6-7 years without much physical activity (his words!), which makes the feat even more impressive. His training programme started on his children’s Wii, before moving onto some road training. All of these athletes will thoroughly deserve their medals when they get to that finish line.
For anyone that wishes to show their support on the day the race venue is Pride Park Stadium in Derby and begins at 9.30am. Additionally, if you would like to show your support by donating funds, please visit Ranjit’s Justgiving site: http://www.justgiving.com/ranjitseehra.
