The Foundation is proud to report that the latest fundraising total is a fantastic £265,208.04.
We really appreciate the efforts of all of those who have taken part in fundraising activities. There have been some very innovative methods of encouraging people to donate their money. Events have included tea parties, pamper nights, clothes swapping parties, garage sales, fun days, corporate dress down days and a rock concert. Also, the creatives have been busy raising funds through card and postcard sales, sewing sales, and stuffed sock sales. Ethne Wright not only beat her fundraising target but blew it out of the water when she took to the pool and swam 200 lengths only 6 years after learning to swim.
It seems that when people run a marathon for the Cystinosis Foundation UK, they want to do it on the continent. In October two runners, Dave & Simon, pounded out the 26.2 miles on the streets of Amsterdam, raising over £3,000 in the process. While in September, Neil, Duncan, Dan & Charlie all happily crossed the finish line in the Berlin marathon, with their efforts earning the Foundation over £8,000. A huge thank you goes out to all of these marathon runners. The size of the feat they’ve achieved cannot be underestimated.
