Next month keen runner Lee Vallett will be running the London Marathon for the third time, and again fundraising on behalf of the Cystinosis Foundation UK. Lee has chosen to support the Foundation as a close friend has Cystinosis.
“Whenever I fundraise I always choose the Foundation” says Lee, who is 27 and lives in Sheffield. “I always believe you have to have a vested interest in a charity if you are really going to get behind it and fundraise”.
We are very fortunate to have Lee running in the London Marathon, as places are at a premium in this event and the small size of the Cystinosis Foundation UK means we are not able to reserve places for runners at this time. This is the third occasion that Lee will be running in the London Marathon and he is aiming to set a personal best time. When asked what motivates him to run it again, he says it has always been a childhood ambition to complete a marathon and it is the atmosphere on the big day that keeps him going: “There is nothing like the buzz you get running down the mall with thousands of people cheering you on.”
You can sponsor Lee directly on his Just Giving Fundraising Page. And we wish him the very best on April 25th. Good Luck Lee!
