Congratulations to Ethne Wright who swam 200 lengths of her local swimming pool, the Esporta in Belfast, on 5th October 2011.
"It was quite a challenge as I only learned to swim 6 years ago", says Ethne, whose granddaughter, Darcy, was diagnosed with Cystinosis at 10 months old. "I am doing this to help fund research into improvements for Cystinosis medications".
Not only did Ethne complete her swim successfully in a time of 2 hours and 50 minutes, she has raised a total of approximately £2,500, with all monies received going to the Cystinosis Foundation UK! £200 of this was raised by Darcy herself, who collected sponsorships for her Nanna at her school, St Andrews Primary School, Clifton Campville, Staffordshire.
And you can still sponsor Ethne on her Just Giving Page.
Congratulations and a big thank you to both Ethne and Darcy!!
