Twice-Daily Cysteamine Trials Update

The Cystinosis Research Foundation has made available the publication of "Long-Term Treatment of Cystinosis in Children with Twice-Daily Cysteamine" by a group of leading researchers, including Dr Ranjan Dohil.

This publication details the results of a long term study of enteric coated Cystagon capsules with a group of cystinotics. The enteric coating is designed to relieve some of the side effects of Cystagon, and reduce both the required dosage and its frequency. This has since led to further development by Raptor Pharmaceuticals who are now in clinical trials with the treatment.
