21st Party Raises Over £500

On 29 December 2007, Alana Munro and Emma Robb celebrated their 21st birthdays at a joint party at the Pitfour Arms Hotel in Mintlaw. However, instead of receiving presents, the two birthday girls requested that their friends and family attending the party make a donation to the Cystinosis Foundation UK. And in doing so, they managed to raise the amazing amount of £567.43.

Alana and Emma chose to support the Foundation after hearing about another local girl, 7-year-old Lena Forsyth, also of Mintlaw, who suffers from Cystinosis and whose family has spent the last few years raising money for the Foundation. The picture shows Alana and Emma presenting Lena with the money they raised.

We thank both Alana and Emma for their wonderful donation and for generously forgoing presents on their special birthday. And we wish both of them all the very best during their 21st years.
