37 mile cycle for Cystinosis

On May 28th Max Kendell (13 years old) and his friend George Crossley (14 years old) raised nearly £200 for the Cystinosis Foundation by cycling 37.25 miles from Tutbury to Derby and back again! Their 5 hour cycle took them past Pride Park, the home of Derby County Football Club and the Derbyshire Cricket Club, where they were given free drinks and a £20 donation from the hospitality manager. "They welcomed us like celebrities", said Max.

The boys found the challenge quite hard, especially with the wind in their faces on the way back and with neither of them having cycled more than 22 miles before.

A picture of their cycle can be seen here.

We’d like to congratulate both Max and George on successfully completing their cycle and also thank them for supporting the Cystinosis Foundation UK and raising money towards our research campaign. Thanks guys!
