We’d like to wish Tom Barlow and his compatriate Stuart all the best in their attempt at L’Étape du Tour.
Having won two places to take part in L’Étape du Tour, where amateur cyclists race over the same route as a stage of a Tour de France stage, Tom’s first reaction was to wonder which young fit people he could give the prize to. On reflection, he thought it would be a perfect opportunity to raise money for the Cystinosis Foundation UK and enlisted the help of an old friend, and keen cyclist, Stuart to join him on the ride.
Tom and Stuart will be cheered on during the ride by Seth, Tom’s son, who has cystinosis. Tom only bought a bike last October, so despite hundreds of training miles the Étape will be a huge physical and mental challenge for both him and Stuart. Please support them if you can.
