Kelly Chilvers, mother of 17 month old Daniel Howell who has Cystinosis, is proud to report a very successful fundraiser for Cystinosis Foundation UK. Her aunt, Elaine Thomas, held a Coffee Morning and an Easter Egg Raffle at her house in Redcar on Thursday 29th March. Cakes were donated and sold at the event and Easter Eggs were donated and raffled, raising a whopping £821.60. Daniel’s story also recently made the local Evening Gazette.
Another fundraiser was recently held by Kelly’s colleagues at Cleveland Police and Steria. They ran an event at Redcar and Cleveland District Police HQ, which included a cake stall, raffle, name the bear competition, guess the number of beads in the jar and stocks, raising a total of £390.14. The police press office has released an article on their website.
And there is more fundraising to come, through friends of Kelly’s doing the Lyke Wake Walk on 6th May. The Lyke Wake Walk is recognised as a significant feat of physical endurance, being a 41 mile long route which ascends over 5,500 feet across the North Yorkshire Moors. They have already raised over £1100 via their fundraising page, and for anyone that wishes to donate, please click on the following link to view their Justgiving web address.
Cystinosis Foundation UK would like to thank Kelly and all her supporters for their hard work – well done all!
