We are pleased to be able to start 2008 with the news that CLIMB has won an award of £10,000 from the Royal Bank of Scotland/Daily Mail Children’s Charity Awards.
Every year, the Royal Bank employees and Daily Mail readers are asked to nominate children’s charities that they feel deserve to be given one of 91 £10,000 awards, with 10 of these charities then being shortlisted and the ‘winner’ given a £100,000 award. Employees and readers not only have to nominate their charity, but also justify their support. And CLIMB were fortunate enough to be one of the 91 charities receiving a £10,000 award after their supporters contacted Royal Bank and the Daily Mail.
"We are thrilled to bits, but could not have achieved this without so much personal support" says Leslie Greene of CLIMB.
CLIMB are a national organisation working on behalf of children, young people and families affected by metabolic diseases, which includes Cystinosis, and are a charity with which the Foundation has regular contact. For more information about CLIMB, please see their website.
