Last weekend in Mintlaw (North East Scotland) a football charity match and disco helped raise money for the Cystinosis Foundation UK. At the time of writing the total stands at over £2,500, with a final figure expected soon.
The day kicked off at 3pm with a football match between ‘Auld Mintlaw’ and the current Mintlaw team, which resulted in a 5-1 victory for the current team. The cup was presented to Mintlaw player Stuart Park by Lena Forsyth. Lena, who lives in Mintlaw, suffers from Cystinosis and her parents have been very active in supporting the Cystinosis Foundation UK. The day ended with an evening disco and a charity auction that included a Scotland football top signed by the Scotland team.
We would like to thank Arthur and Paul Finnie, Leona Findlay, Chris Barron and Rex Hunter for organising this event and helping to raise money and awareness for Cystinosis.
Furthermore, we wish to thank all the local businesses who kindly contributed money and raffle prizes for the Cystinosis Foundation UK, including Asda, Graham Group, Zanres and The Country Park Inn.
