Further Funding for Sunderland Prodrug Development

We are pleased to announce that we have extended the funding to University of Sunderland to continue their work on Developing a Prodrug for the treatment of Cystinosis. This £75,000.00 of funding will support the pre-clinical work that is necessary to progress to pre-clinical trials and to further develop an ocular prodrug treatment. The project will run from February next year for around 14 months.

The work to date on developing suitable compounds for a Prodrug have progressed as expected with a strong candidate having been identified. Sunderland University continue to work on this with wider partners in the Cystinosis research community.
