A big well done to Jessica Kemp who, on realising she could not join the Sheffield Sponsored Walk For Cystinosis, challenged her friends to sponsor her £200 in return for which she would shave off her golden locks.
Within 2 days of announcing her hair-raising challenge, Jessica has succeeded in raising over £250 and, true to her word to ensure her friends were not short-changed, took a razor to her hair earlier today. Now we have hair the photographic evidence to prove it!!
However, if you think this was a bald move, the challenge and the fundraising are not yet complete. Another PERMutation lies ahead. If Jessica manages to raise £300, her partner Darren will allow Jessica to wax off his chest hair. If the thought of this doesn’t make you want to curl up and dye, then spare a thought for Darren who has also agreed to have his legs waxed if they reach the £400 mark! That’s stubble their original target.
Jessica’s enthusiasm for performing this waxing hasn’t waned and you can help Jessica reach this target by sponsoring her on her Just Giving Sponsor Page. Chop chop – help her reach her target now!
Both of Jessica’s daughters have Cystinosis and it is for this reason Jessica has chosen to raise funds for the Foundation. We would like to thank them for their support. The money raised will help us to continue funding research into Cystinosis treatments. Finally, we would like to wish Darren good lock with his waxing. Sorry, I had to get that last pun of my chest and glad you’ve read this far to hair me out….
