Summer Concert For Cystinosis

The Folkestone & Hythe Orchestral Society’s Annual Summer Concert will be held on Saturday 9th July 2011 at the Saga Pavilion, Sandgate. On this occasion the Society has elected the Cystinosis Foundation UK as their supported charity, for which we are very grateful.

Vice president and violinist, Derek Kemp, along with his daughter and fellow violinist, Katie, highlighted the Foundation to the Society after Martin (Derek’s son) informed them about Elliott Mace (his friend’s son) who had been diagnosed with Cystinosis in 2009.

It is also hoped that Elliott’s mother, Amy, who plays the cello, will be able to participate in the concert along with her father who also plays the cello. The Kemp family have been active supporters of the Foundation, with Martin running the 2011 London Marathon (see www.justgiving.com/martin-kemp for more details).

The concert will also be attended by Cystinosis Foundation UK trustee, John Terry.
