Derby Moor student Eeshar Seehra was thrilled to achieve 3 A Levels in Maths, Physics and Media. What makes this an exceptional achievement is the fact that he has the rare inherited disease Cystinosis. Despite feeling ill and undergoing surgery, Eeshar has always been at school whenever he can.
“What really impresses me is the optimism of Eeshar and his family. This is a real tribute to them. They have never used the condition as an excuse and Eeshar is just a real inspiration to others. He is an incredibly bright young man who has battled against the odds, but he has shown that you should never give up. We are so proud of him” said Ms Whelan Executive Principal at Derby Moor.
Mrs Lakin who has supported Eeshar since he started at Derby Moor was delighted with his results. “ I am so proud of Eeshar. He has worked so hard through what has been a difficult time but he has always been so positive and we have had some laughs along the way” said Mrs Lakin
Mrs Lakin organised a charity week at School in aid of Cystinosis UK where they put on events all week, including a concert and a parachute jump raising over £3000 for the charity.
Eeshar is delighted to now have a place at Derby University studying Film Production which he has always wanted to do.
